Shaw BCF ClearTouch carpets are made with PET, which stands for polyethylene terephthalate carpet fibers in bulked continuous filaments (BCF). This PET is made from recycled water bottles and soft drink bottles that may have otherwise been sent to a landfill. The unique patented process used to by Shaw to manufacture ClearTouch BCF carpet results in enhanced performance, when compared to other recycled PET carpets that are instead made with spun fibers.
ClearTouch PET carpets have enhanced stain and soiling protection thanks to the R2x Stain and Soil Resistance System. These carpets by Shaw Floors are exceptionally durable due to the high twist count and pile densities. At the same time, they are incredibly soft due to the use of fine–denier filaments in their yarn.
ClearTouch filament carpets feature Shaw's patented R2X Stain and Soil Resistance System, widely tested and shown to profide superior repellency, keeping stains on the serface for easy removal.
Installed on over 5.5 million homes from coast to coast, James Hardie© fiber cement siding products are designed to resist the most extreme conditions while romancing the senses. Enjoy the warm, natural character of wood with unprecedented peace of mind. It's easy to see what makes James Hardie© the market leader.
The choice of building materials has a huge impact on the environment. And wood's inherent properties - as a sustainable, natural, recyclable, and renewable resource - make it an excellent environmental choice for any new construction, as long as it comes from a responsible source. The SFI® program defines how the forest and related resources shall be sustained. For example, the SFI® program requires protection of water quality, prompt reforestation after harvest, promoting wildlife conservation, and continuously improving our practices and forest management activities to ensure long-term forest productivity and usage. To ensure these resources are protected, the program has specific requirements that must be met in order for a landowner or company to prove compliance.
Overall, wood production consumes less energy, emits less greenhouse gases, releases fewer pollutants into the air and generates much less water pollution compared to steel and concrete. In addition, trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as they grow, sequestering and storing the carbon while producing oxygen - and this reduces greenhouse gases and improves air quality.
Water is really our most important resource and is a resource that is becoming more expensive for human consumption each day. The average household uses 185-291 gallons of water per day. On average, 60% of a family's water bill goes down the drain in the toilet and the shower, 20% in the laundry and 20% in other indoor areas like the kitchen. To help our customers save money and valuable resources, we put the following water saving products in every home we build:
By modifying spray formers to increase the velocity of the water stream, flow-optimized showerheads use up to 30% less water than the industry standard while still offering invigorating, full-body coverage to envelop the user.
All Moen bathroom faucets feature a flow-optimized aerator that uses up to 32% less water without sacrificing performance, making each one certified to meet WaterSense criteria.
